Why this exists
I had receipts, but I did not have reserves. I had things, but I did not have financial peace. I had income, but I did not have a plan.
There was a time when I believed my financial problem was only that I needed more money. I kept thinking the next check, opportunity, client, or increase in income would finally fix everything. But every time more money came in, more money went out.
I spent because I was tired. I spent because I wanted to feel successful. I spent because I did not want to tell people no. I helped people even when helping them placed me behind.
My restoration began when I stopped blaming only my income and started examining my choices. I learned that saying no is not selfish. I learned that appearing successful is not the same as being financially secure.
I could not recover yesterday's money, but I could give today's money a new assignment.
